With the expansion of Reykjavik the demand for new kindergartens grew proportionally with the new neighborhoods. Ivarsson designed about a third of those built in the Reykjavik area from 1990 to present. The floor space is from 350 up to 850 square meters. All of them are reinforced concrete, insulated on the outside and weather sealed with aluminum siding.
